Beyond the classroom

Cosmos Summer Camp in Singapore (July 2026)

During my high school years, I had chances to step out of the box to meet people whose experiences were very different from mine. Through shared activities and conversations, I have learnt to embrace unfamiliarity, not as something to struggle with, but as opportunities to grow. This experience taught me to adapt quickly, communicate openly, and become more independent.

Mentoring younger students pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. I had to turn what I knew into explanations that younger students could actually understand, which gradually strengthened the communication skills I had developed through public speaking. More importantly, working with students with different personalities taught me to be patient, adaptable, and attentive – skills I can’t simply learn in a classroom.
